Tyrone Lee Wetzler dies in fatal Surprise stabbing

Fatal Surprise stabbing death of Tyrone Lee Wetzler – Obituary

Tyrone Lee Wetzler, 28, was fatally stabbed during an altercation in the parking lot of a church near 113th Avenue and Bell Road in Surprise, Arizona.

Police responded to reports of a man down around 6 a.m. on May 27 and found Wetzler deceased with multiple stab wounds. Authorities said Wetzler, along with Kahpri Wells and another individual, were transients permitted to stay on the church property.

According to investigators, Wells admitted to fighting with Wetzler the night before and confessed to stabbing him during the confrontation at the church. After the attack, she fled the scene but was later apprehended.

Wells was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police are urging anyone with additional information about the incident to contact the Surprise Police Department.
