Fatal Asajaya car crash death of Abdul Mutang – Obituary

Abdul Mutang, a 70-year-old pastor from Kampung Long Sukang, Lawas, lost his life in a tragic two-vehicle accident that occurred on May 28 along Jalan Sungai Buluh-Sadong Jaya, near Kampung Senangeh.

According to Kota Samarahan police chief Supt Damataries Lautin, the incident happened at approximately 12:20 p.m. when the Nissan Vanette driven by Abdul Mutang veered out of control and crashed into a Perodua Aruz traveling in the opposite direction. The Aruz was on its way to the Sarawak Heart Centre from Simunjan.

Emergency responders arrived on scene and pronounced Abdul Mutang dead at the site of the crash. His body was later transported to Sarawak General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The 46-year-old driver of the Aruz, along with his wife and son who were also in the vehicle, escaped the collision without injury.

Police are currently investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and have appealed for witnesses to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
