Angela Marie Leggett, 47, was tragically killed after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 20 in Arlington early Sunday morning. According to Arlington police, officers responded around 5:14 a.m. near the Matlock Road overpass after a witness reported seeing a person lying in the roadway. When police arrived, they discovered Leggett’s body at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed her identity and determined the cause of death as blunt force injuries.
Investigators believe Leggett entered the highway near the overpass and was hit by a westbound vehicle whose driver fled without stopping. No description of the suspect vehicle has been released so far, and the investigation remains active. Authorities have cautioned the public against walking on highways, emphasizing the extreme danger posed by fast-moving traffic.
