Fatal Columbus shooting death of Anhil Hernandez – Obituary

Columbus police have confirmed that 42-year-old Anhil Hernandez died from a gunshot wound sustained Tuesday evening at a Walmart on East 23rd Street.

 

Authorities responded just before 6:30 p.m. and found Hernandez suffering from a chest gunshot injury. He was transported to a hospital but was later pronounced dead.

 

Following the shooting, 25-year-old Manuel Alejandro Cabrera surrendered to police. Investigators determined that Cabrera was Hernandez’s stepson. Cabrera was charged with first-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
