Authorities in Manchester have arrested a suspect in connection with the killing of 60-year-old Derek Jones Sr., who was found dead Wednesday morning.
Ramadhani Idrisa Kiki, age 39, has been charged with second-degree murder after allegedly admitting to the fatal attack. According to New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella, police were dispatched to 434 Union Street shortly before 7:45 a.m. following a disturbance report. Upon arrival, officers located Kiki near the intersection of Union and Merrimack streets. He was reportedly covered in blood and confessed to committing a murder.
Kiki was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
Inside apartment 303 at the Union Street address, investigators discovered the body of Derek Jones Sr. on the floor. The state’s medical examiner confirmed that Jones Sr. died from multiple sharp force injuries and ruled the case a homicide.
Police said Kiki remains under medical care and will be formally arraigned at a future date.
