Fatal Jackson car crash death of Dovid Yitzchok Handler, Chaim Zelig Beril, and Rafael Faham – Obituary

Authorities in Jackson have confirmed the names of the three teenagers who lost their lives in a tragic single-vehicle accident that occurred early Friday morning on North Hope Chapel Road near New Central Avenue.

The crash involved a minivan carrying five teens. Dovid Yitzchok Handler and Chaim Zelig Beril were declared deceased shortly after the incident. Rafael Faham, who was initially listed in critical condition, succumbed to his injuries over the weekend. The two remaining teens survived but remain hospitalized in critical condition.

The Jackson Police Department received a 911 call from a passing driver at 4:39 a.m. who reported a car had crashed into a tree. Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle engulfed in flames with four individuals trapped inside.

Despite the severe condition of the vehicle, officers managed to rescue two victims from the wreckage. Another teen had exited the vehicle before help arrived and was found injured nearby.

Police believe the vehicle was traveling northbound when it struck a deer. The impact disabled the vehicle, which then veered off the road and collided with a large tree. One victim died from the initial collision, while another perished in the fire that ignited from the damaged engine compartment.

The injured survivors were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Investigations into the crash are still underway.
