Harriet Kowalski, aged 102, was one of three elderly individuals discovered shot to death inside a residence in La Porte County, Indiana, on Sunday night.

Deputies from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the home in response to a welfare check request made by a concerned family member. Upon arrival, they found Kowalski and two others—75-year-old Leonard Ciastko and 73-year-old Linda Ciastko—dead from single gunshot wounds to the head.

The La Porte County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identities of the victims. Autopsies have been conducted, though full results are still pending while the investigation continues.

Authorities believe the shooting was an isolated occurrence and have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public. Law enforcement has not released additional information as the case remains active.
