Houston, Texas Man Carltonio Jackson Arrested in Houston for Fatal METRO Bus Shooting

HOUSTON, TEXAS — Carltonio Jackson, a 22-year-old resident of Houston, was arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred on a METRO bus in southwest Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, Jackson was charged with murder after allegedly shooting 35-year-old Phillip Ogiemwonyi during an argument on a METRO bus last Friday, May 23. Authorities say the bus was stopped near West Bellfort Avenue and Kirby Drive when the altercation escalated.

Ogiemwonyi was found lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Investigators say Jackson fled the scene on foot following the shooting.

Jackson was identified through surveillance footage and charged with murder on Wednesday. He was taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Jail, where he is currently facing charges related to the incident.
