Israel Lerma-Flores dies in fatal Reno car crash

Fatal Reno car crash death of Israel Lerma-Flores – Obituary

Israel Lerma-Flores, an 18-year-old resident of Sparks, Nevada, was one of three teenagers who lost their lives in a tragic car accident on May 25, 2025, in Reno. The collision took place along South McCarran Boulevard near Skyline Boulevard in the early morning hours.

According to the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, Israel was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Authorities say the vehicle involved became fully engulfed in flames after a high-speed single-vehicle wreck that caused several occupants to be thrown from the car. A passerby stopped to assist, managing to pull some teens from the burning wreckage.

Two others were also fatally injured in the incident: 17-year-old Jesse Bravo of Reno, who also died at the scene, and 17-year-old Adrian Morales of Yerington, who passed away at Renown Regional Medical Center on May 28.

Reno Police believe speed and possible driver impairment may have contributed to the crash. An investigation is still underway, and the cause and manner of death remain pending further examination.

Israel’s death has left a profound impact on his family, friends, and community. A roadside memorial now stands near the site of the crash, where loved ones continue to pay tribute to his memory.
