Fatal San Antonio shooting death of Jarod Turner – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that 28-year-old Jarod Turner lost his life in a drive-by shooting that occurred outside a restaurant on San Antonio’s far West Side.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner reported that Turner sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the torso. His death has officially been ruled a homicide.

The incident unfolded just after 3 p.m. on Tuesday near the 5700 block of West Loop 1604 North, not far from Culebra Road. Turner had just finished dining at the 54th Street Scratch Grill & Bar and was getting into a vehicle with his family when someone in a silver Ford Explorer opened fire.

San Antonio police stated that multiple individuals were inside the SUV and fled the area immediately following the shooting. Investigators found evidence indicating that more than one firearm was used, as various shell casings were scattered across the scene.

Gunshots also damaged several parked vehicles nearby, but no additional injuries were reported. As of Wednesday evening, the individuals inside the Ford Explorer remained at large.
