Jefferson Romero dies in fatal South Los Angeles car crash

Fatal South Los Angeles car crash death of Jefferson Romero – Obituary

Jefferson Romero, 21, lost his life early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle accident in South Los Angeles. The incident occurred just after 7 a.m. on Vernon Avenue near McKinley Avenue.

Authorities say Romero was behind the wheel when the car he was in crashed into several parked vehicles. Emergency responders from the fire department arrived at the scene but were unable to revive him, according to LAPD Officer Kevin Terzes.

As a result of the crash and subsequent investigation, Vernon Avenue was temporarily shut down between McKinley and Wadsworth avenues.

The circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
