Fatal Jasper shooting death of Keniyah Brenae Williams – Obituary
Keniyah Brenae Williams, a 19-year-old woman from Woodville, lost her life after being shot in the head late Tuesday night in Jasper. Authorities believe the incident was tied to a domestic dispute, according to a statement from the Jasper Police Department.
The shooting was reported just before midnight, and Williams was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving due to the severity of her injuries.
A 23-year-old man, also from Woodville, was present at the hospital and was taken into custody by police. Investigators say he is cooperating with the ongoing inquiry, and a firearm believed to be used in the shooting has been secured.
According to initial findings, the shooting occurred inside the suspect’s vehicle near the intersection of West Gibson Street and Main Street. After the incident, the man reportedly drove Williams to the hospital in the same vehicle.
Police indicated that the two individuals were in a relationship at the time of the incident.
