Leonard Ciastko, 75, was among three elderly individuals found fatally shot inside a residence in unincorporated La Porte County, Indiana, on Sunday evening.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check request after Ciastko’s daughter was unable to reach him by phone. Upon arriving at the home, officers discovered the bodies of Leonard Ciastko, 73-year-old Linda Ciastko, and 102-year-old Harriet Kowalski. Each had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.

The La Porte County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of the victims and noted that autopsies have been performed, though complete findings are still pending as the case remains under investigation.

Authorities have indicated that the shooting appears to be an isolated event and that there is no known threat to the surrounding community.
