Fatal Jeffersontown shooting death of Marco Dorsey – Obituary

Authorities have identified Marco Dorsey, 43, as the man who was fatally shot by an off-duty police officer in Jeffersontown on Tuesday morning.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner, the incident occurred near the 10000 block of Robsion Road, close to Chambers Way and Billtown Road. Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders reported that police received multiple calls around 11:25 a.m. concerning a man behaving erratically and breaking windows.

An off-duty officer happened to be nearby and responded to the disturbance, confronting Dorsey. During the encounter, at least one shot was fired, resulting in Dorsey’s death. The officer was not injured and immediately requested backup.

Chief Sanders noted that it remains unclear whether Dorsey was armed at the time. The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
