Mitchel Young dies in fatal Princeville stabbing

Fatal Princeville stabbing death of Mitchel Young – Obituary

Mitchel Young was fatally stabbed on the evening of May 27 at Bridgers Store in Princeville, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m., prompting a swift investigation by Edgecombe County deputies.

Authorities reviewed surveillance footage from the scene, which led them to identify Trevis Dickens as the individual responsible for the stabbing. Deputies tracked Dickens to his residence at the Northgate Apartments in nearby Tarboro.

When law enforcement attempted to take him into custody, Dickens reportedly made aggressive moves toward the deputies. In response, officers used less-lethal tactics to subdue and arrest him without further incident.

Dickens is now facing a charge of first-degree murder and is being held without bond as the investigation continues.
