Fatal Stanislaus County car crash death of Noah McCafferty – Obituary

Noah McCafferty, a 28-year-old resident of Sonora, was identified as the victim in a deadly Memorial Day vehicle accident that took place along Highway 4 in Stanislaus County, near the Calaveras County line.

According to the California Highway Patrol, McCafferty was driving a Toyota SUV eastbound on the highway on Monday, May 26, when, for reasons still being investigated, the vehicle veered off the north edge of the road. The SUV flipped and slid approximately 300 feet before coming to a stop on its roof.

McCafferty, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was ejected from the vehicle and found deceased at the scene. Because of the crash site’s isolated location and the absence of witnesses, it remains unclear exactly when the incident occurred.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
