Fatal Houston bus shooting death of Phillip Ogiemwonyi – Obituary
Phillip Ogiemwonyi, 35, lost his life after being shot during an altercation on a METRO bus in southwest Houston on Friday, May 23. The incident occurred while the bus was stopped near West Bellfort Avenue and Kirby Drive.
According to Houston police, a dispute broke out between Ogiemwonyi and another man, later identified as 22-year-old Carltonio Jackson. During the confrontation, Jackson allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Ogiemwonyi. The victim was found wounded on the sidewalk and was transported to a hospital, where he was later declared dead.
Jackson reportedly fled the scene on foot after the shooting. Surveillance images were made public the following day, and authorities confirmed Jackson as the suspect on Wednesday. He is currently wanted for murder and remains at large.
