Red Oak, Texas Man Dwight Xavier Jones Jr. Arrested in Ellis County for Fatal Shooting of Mother

RED OAK, TX — Dwight Xavier Jones Jr., a 20-year-old resident of Red Oak, was arrested in Ellis County in connection with the fatal shooting of his mother, 58-year-old Stephanie Easter.

According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, Jones was taken into custody without incident on Sunday, May 25, after deputies responded to a residence on the 100 block of Ridge Oak Drive. Authorities say Easter was found deceased at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

Jones was transported to the Wayne McCollum Detention Center and is currently facing a murder charge related to the incident. He remains in custody awaiting arraignment.
