Fatal DeLand car crash death of Sean Heyne – Obituary

Sean Heyne, 37, lost his life in a deadly head-on collision Thursday morning in DeLand, Florida. The crash occurred around 8:53 a.m. at the intersection of South Woodland Boulevard and Volusia Avenue, according to police.

Investigators say a white Nissan van, driven by a man traveling northbound on South Woodland Boulevard, collided head-on with a green Mitsubishi convertible heading southbound. The impact happened as both vehicles entered the intersection.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, identified as Sean Heyne, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan van’s driver was rushed to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital with what authorities described as potentially life-threatening injuries.

DeLand Police confirmed that Sean Heyne’s next of kin has been notified, and the investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
