Fatal Victorville car crash death of Shareece S. Jones – Obituary

A tragic accident claimed the life of 49-year-old Shareece S. Jones of Victorville, who was struck by a suspected drunk driver in the Brentwood neighborhood of Victorville, California.

The incident happened around 8:57 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, near the intersection of Reno Loop Road and Sorrel Way. Emergency crews from Victorville Police, Victorville Fire, and American Medical Response quickly arrived after receiving reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.

Authorities determined that a gold Chevrolet Suburban had collided with a female pedestrian. Despite efforts to save her life, Jones was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The driver, identified as 50-year-old George Batiste Thenarse from Barstow, was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of DUI, according to information provided by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team responded to handle the case, keeping Reno Loop Road shut down in both directions for about four hours as they examined the scene.
