Fatal Red Oak shooting death of Stephanie Easter – Obituary

Stephanie Easter, 58, was shot and killed on May 25, 2025, in Red Oak, Texas. Authorities from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Ridge Oak Drive, where they found Easter dead from a gunshot wound.

Her son, 20-year-old Dwight Xavier Jones Jr., has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the shooting. He was taken into custody without resistance and is being held at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center while awaiting formal arraignment.
