Fatal Milan crash death of Tyson R. Stevens – Obituary
Tyson R. Stevens, 49, from Milan, Illinois, was killed in a crash involving a semi-truck on the afternoon of May 28, according to the Rock Island County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred around 4:17 p.m. in the 4300 block of 78th Avenue, also known as Indian Bluff Road, near the Greater Quad City Auto Auction. Deputies arrived at the scene to find a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger car.
Stevens, the only person in the passenger vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver did not sustain any injuries.
An autopsy is scheduled for May 30 to further investigate the cause of death. In addition to the crash damage, the collision also ruptured a water main, which required intervention from Moline Public Works.
Multiple emergency units responded to the incident, including fire crews from Coal Valley, Coyne Center, Blackhawk, Moline, East Moline, and the Rock Island Arsenal. The Illinois State Police and the Rock Island County Coroner’s Office were also involved.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
