Fatal Peoria car crash death of Abrielle Lopez – Obituary

Abrielle Lopez, a passenger from Litchfield Park, passed away two weeks after sustaining injuries in a serious collision at the intersection of 107th and Northern avenues in Peoria.

The crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, when an SUV and a car collided. Emergency responders found the driver and passenger in the car with severe injuries; both were transported to the hospital. The SUV driver suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

Sadly, on May 25, authorities were notified that Lopez had succumbed to her injuries. The other victims have since been discharged. Peoria police continue to investigate the crash, focusing on impairment and speeding as possible contributing factors.
