Fatal Pamlico County shooting death of Debra Balance Jones – Obituary
Authorities in Pamlico County, North Carolina, are investigating the death of 62-year-old Debra Balance Jones, who was found shot to death in her Vandemere home on Thursday evening.
Deputies responded to a call about a shooting at around 8:00 p.m. on May 29. When they arrived, they discovered Jones with fatal gunshot wounds.
Investigators have charged 48-year-old William Earl Toler, Jr., also from Vandemere, with her murder. He faces one open count of murder and an additional charge for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Toler is currently being held without bond at the Pamlico County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in Pamlico County District Court on Friday, May 30.
