Gabriel Lee Garza dies in fatal Killeen, Texas shooting

Fatal Killeen, Texas shooting death of Gabriel Lee Garza – Obituary

Gabriel Lee Garza, 19, was identified as the young man who lost his life in a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in Killeen, Texas.

Around 1:45 a.m. on May 28, officers were called to the 2900 block of Cantabrian Drive following reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered Garza with multiple gunshot wounds.

 

Emergency crews initiated life-saving efforts and transported him to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. Despite their attempts, Garza was pronounced dead at 6:29 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Nicola James. An autopsy has been ordered and will be conducted at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

 

Initial findings from the investigation suggest Garza had arranged to meet with two or three other individuals outside a residence, where multiple shots were fired. Police believe Garza and the suspects were acquainted.

 

The case is currently being handled by the Robbery-Homicide Unit. No additional details have been released at this time.
