Shawn Oveisi, a resident of Austin, Texas, tragically lost his life following a hit-and-run collision that occurred late at night on May 6, 2025, along the North Mopac Expressway.

Authorities report that the crash took place around 11:38 p.m. near the 2900 block of the expressway. Oveisi had been traveling northbound on his motorcycle when another vehicle made contact with him. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly fled the scene without stopping.

Oveisi sustained critical injuries from the impact and, despite medical efforts, died from those injuries on May 19. As of now, officials have not released any identifying details about the vehicle or driver involved in the hit-and-run.
