Fatal Oconto County crash death of Allen LaViolette – Obituary
Allen LaViolette, 39, of Denmark, Wisconsin, has been confirmed as the second victim in a deadly crash that occurred on May 16 along U.S. Highway 41 in the town of Little River, according to a statement released by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office on May 30.
Authorities said the collision took place when Michael LaCourt, 64, of Oconto, attempted to merge into the right southbound lane from County W. At that moment, LaViolette, who was also heading south at what witnesses described as a high rate of speed, moved into the same lane, striking the rear of LaCourt’s pickup truck. The impact caused the truck to overturn and roll into the median.
Both men were ejected from their vehicles. LaCourt was pronounced dead at the scene on May 16. LaViolette was initially taken to Aurora Medical Center – BayArea in Marinette and later transferred to Aurora BayCare in Green Bay, before being moved to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, where he passed away on May 20.
LaCourt, known to many as “Chico,” is remembered for his laid-back personality, love for NASCAR and sports, and his joy in sharing time with friends. A celebration of his life was scheduled for May 31 at Irish Greens Golf Club & Restaurant in Oconto.
LaViolette, originally from Oconto Falls, is being honored for his selfless decision to be an organ donor. His family plans to hold a celebration of his life at a later date.
LaCourt is survived by his wife, Tina, his children Marty and Marissa, and stepchildren Rachel and Timmy. LaViolette is survived by his mother, Chris Anderson; siblings Amanda Antonson and Randy LaViolette; and his children, Quentin, Kira, and Westin.
