A devastating collision in Verna, Goa, on Saturday led to the death of 23-year-old Anisha Satish Borkar, a Quepem resident, after she was struck by a fast-moving SUV near the Monginis Unit. Another pedestrian, Akshata Naik from Karwar, was injured in the same incident and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Authorities say the SUV was allegedly driven by a student on their way to PCC College for an exam when the vehicle hit the two young women. Following the crash, the driver went to the Verna Police Station to report the accident.

Law enforcement has launched an investigation to determine what caused the deadly impact. Verna Police have stated that legal steps will be taken as the inquiry progresses.
