Fatal Rome house fire death of Jermaine Wright – Obituary
A tragic house fire in the Garden Lakes neighborhood of Rome, Georgia, claimed the life of 49-year-old Jermaine Wright on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency crews from the Rome-Floyd Fire Department responded to the blaze at 15 Wakefield Place at approximately 4:24 p.m. after receiving reports that someone might still be inside the burning residence. Upon arrival, firefighters immediately began efforts to suppress the flames and conduct a search inside the home.
Jermaine Wright was discovered inside the residence, but sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputy Coroner Jordan Pierson confirmed his identity and stated that his remains were transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for a post-mortem examination.
The fire caused significant destruction to the property, and the origin of the blaze remains undetermined as investigators continue to examine the case.
