Laron Duane Rosse dies in fatal Fort Wayne shooting

Fatal Fort Wayne shooting death of Laron Duane Rosse – Obituary

Laron Duane Rosse, 59, was identified as the man killed in a deadly shooting that occurred early Friday morning in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Authorities responded around 2:05 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 2600 block of Wells Street, located between Lillian and Russell avenues. Officers found Rosse suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office determined that Rosse died as a result of multiple gunshot injuries and officially ruled the case a homicide. His death marks the 15th homicide in Allen County this year, most of which have involved gun violence.

Later that same day, police arrested two suspects — 18-year-old Jayden Cosme and 19-year-old Jaylen Murray — on preliminary murder charges. The arrests were made during a high-risk traffic stop near South Anthony Boulevard and Lanternier Street, more than 12 hours after the shooting.

The Fort Wayne Police Department, along with the coroner’s office and the Allen County prosecutor, continue to investigate. Formal charges against the two suspects are expected to be filed soon.
