Fatal Turner, Maine motorcycle crash death of William Brooks – Obituary
William Brooks, 65, of Lisbon, Maine, died following a motorcycle accident that took place Friday afternoon on Route 4 in Turner, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency services received a call about the crash around 3:49 p.m. on Auburn Road. When Turner Fire-Rescue and sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found Brooks with severe injuries after his motorcycle had veered off the road and hit an embankment. Authorities said the impact threw him from the vehicle, and he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Brooks was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Lewiston Police Department’s crash reconstruction team assisted with the scene investigation. Authorities are still working to determine what caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway.
