Fatal Garfield County I-70 crash deaths of Dawn Ingrid Triplat, Richard Headrick, and Teddy-Jo Headrick – Obituary

Three individuals lost their lives in a devastating two-vehicle collision on Interstate 70 near New Castle on Tuesday morning.

The Garfield County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as 84-year-old Dawn Ingrid Triplat from New Castle, along with 81-year-old Richard Headrick and 79-year-old Teddy-Jo Headrick, both residents of Highland, Utah. The crash, which occurred around 10:15 a.m. at mile marker 106, forced the closure of westbound I-70 for over five hours.

Authorities confirmed that all three victims died from blunt force trauma sustained in the accident. The Colorado State Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, and further details will be provided as the inquiry continues.
