Fatal Orlando murder-suicide death of Donovan Michael Ramirez – Obituary

Donovan Michael Ramirez, 45, has been identified as the man behind a devastating murder-suicide that left four other members of his family dead in an Orlando home earlier this week. Authorities responded to the house on Lake District Lane in the Lake Nona area on Tuesday afternoon and discovered the bodies of Ramirez, his wife, their adult daughter, and two young children.

Investigators believe Ramirez shot and killed his wife, Stephanie Renee Ramirez, 39; his 22-year-old stepdaughter, Alyssa Berumen; and his daughters, Sunny Ramirez, 11, and Shelby Rose Ramirez, 7, before taking his own life. A firearm was located inside the residence. The exact circumstances and sequence of events remain under investigation, pending the medical examiner’s findings.

Neighbors said the family had recently relocated from another state and had lived in the home for only a few months. Many described them as quiet and seemingly typical. The lack of activity around the home in recent days raised concern, which eventually led to the welfare check that uncovered the tragedy.

One neighbor, Justin Rossilini, noted he last saw the family about five days earlier. Another, Heather Collins, expressed heartbreak and confusion, saying nothing had suggested that anything was wrong.

Members of the surrounding community were stunned, with many pointing to the neighborhood’s reputation for safety and peace. Some left small memorials in front of the home in remembrance of the victims.

A small dog was found alive in the house and was safely removed by Animal Control officers.
