Fatal Wilmington shooting death of James Saxe – Obituary
James Saxe, 56, was identified by police as the man who was fatally shot on the night of May 29 in Wilmington’s West Center City area.
Authorities responded to a call around 11:05 p.m. reporting gunfire in the 800 block of West Seventh Street. When officers arrived, they found Saxe suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his wounds.
A second victim, a 19-year-old male, was also shot during the incident. He managed to get to a hospital on his own and was reported to be in stable condition.
Wilmington police are continuing their investigation and have not yet released details about potential suspects or a motive.
