Julius Shawn Marcel Chaney, a 15-year-old resident of Sacramento, lost his life following a shooting that occurred late Tuesday night in the city’s Meadowview neighborhood.

Authorities reported that the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. along the 100 block of Coral Gables Court. Chaney was shot at least once and rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

His death marks the third shooting in Sacramento involving a teenager or young adult in less than two weeks, highlighting a troubling trend in the area.
