Fatal Orlando murder-suicide death of Stephanie Renee Ramirez, Alyssa Berumen, Sunny Ramirez, and Shelby Rose Ramirez – Obituary

Authorities in Orlando have identified the five family members found dead in a suspected murder-suicide at a residence on Lake District Lane in the East Park neighborhood of Lake Nona. Police believe Donovan Michael Ramirez, 45, was responsible for the deaths of his wife and three children before taking his own life.

The victims have been named as 39-year-old Stephanie Renee Ramirez, their 22-year-old daughter Alyssa Berumen, 11-year-old Sunny Ramirez, and 7-year-old Shelby Rose Ramirez. Officers arrived at the home around 1 p.m. Tuesday and discovered all five deceased inside. A firearm was recovered at the scene, though the exact causes of death will be confirmed by the medical examiner.

Responding officers were deeply disturbed by the scene, with at least one needing to step outside after becoming physically ill. According to neighbors, the family had moved into the area recently and kept mostly to themselves. In the days leading up to the discovery, the home had been notably quiet.

Heather Collins, who lives nearby, expressed shock and sorrow, stating she couldn’t comprehend the tragedy. Her fiancé, Justin Rossilini, also recounted last seeing the family nearly a week prior and noted nothing unusual until law enforcement arrived.

Community members described the neighborhood as peaceful and were rattled by the incident. Several mentioned having casual interactions with the family, seeing them outdoors or exchanging greetings. Remembrances have since been placed outside the home.

Animal Control retrieved the family’s dog from the house unharmed.
