Frederick Miller IV, 42, of Omaha, lost his life early Tuesday morning in what authorities believe was a hit-and-run incident. Omaha Police responded to reports of a person lying in the street near Pacific Street and Park Avenue shortly before 4:45 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found Miller with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Emergency crews performed life-saving measures while rushing him to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Officials with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Miller’s identity later that afternoon. Investigators are continuing to gather information about the circumstances surrounding the collision, which remains under investigation.
No suspects have been named, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
