Fatal Rockford car crash death of Thomas Walker Jr. – Obituary
Thomas Walker Jr., 41, of Pecatonica, lost his life in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning near Rockford, according to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. on June 2, along U.S. Highway 20 near Meridian Road. Walker was driving a pickup truck heading east when the vehicle veered off the road and crashed.
Emergency crews from the Illinois State Police, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Win-Bur-Sew Fire Department, and MD-1 responded to the scene. Walker was pronounced dead at the location of the crash.
An autopsy confirmed that his death was the result of injuries sustained during the collision. Both the coroner’s office and Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
