Fatal El Paso car crash death of Brittney Delva – Obituary

U.S. Army Specialist Brittney Delva, 29, lost her life in a single-vehicle car crash early Sunday morning, June 1, on Spur 601 near Loop 375 in El Paso, Texas.

According to officials at Fort Bliss, Delva served as a field artillery cannon crewmember with the 1st Armored Division Artillery. Her vehicle, a four-door Volkswagen sedan, was traveling eastbound around 2 a.m. when it failed to handle a gentle curve, struck a curb, and collided with a concrete barrier. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire.

The El Paso Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames, but Delva was found deceased inside the car.

This marks the second fatal incident involving a Fort Bliss soldier on Spur 601 in recent weeks.

The El Paso police Special Traffic Investigations Unit continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
