Fatal Jefferson County motorcycle crash death of Carnedose Heggs – Obituary
Carnedose Heggs, a 38-year-old resident of Martinsburg, was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening in Jefferson County. According to Lt. Robert Sell of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, emergency responders were called to the intersection of Route 115 and Old Creamery Place in Kearneysville shortly after 6 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Heggs unresponsive in a yard near 55 Old Creamery Place, alongside a black Kawasaki Ninja 500R showing damage on the right side. Witness reports and roadway evidence revealed that Heggs was traveling eastbound on Route 115 when he lost control, crossed the double yellow line, veered off the left side of the road into the grass, and collided with a utility pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash prompted a two-hour closure of the road while Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police, JCESA, and Shepherdstown Fire Company conducted their investigation.
