Fatal Harrison County boat capsizing death of Dan Reynolds III – Obituary

Dan Reynolds III, 64, of Gulfport, tragically lost his life after a boating accident near Gulfport Harbor on Tuesday.

According to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer, the boat Reynolds was on was south of Moses Pier when it struck a rough wave around 12:15 p.m., causing it to capsize and throw four passengers into the water.

The vessel, estimated to be between 16 and 18 feet long, overturned approximately 100 yards from the shore. Reynolds was quickly transported to Memorial Hospital but unfortunately did not survive.

The other three people aboard escaped without injury, as confirmed by the coroner. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
