Seventeen-year-old Nevaeh Carter was fatally shot inside a vehicle over the weekend in Charlotte’s North Tryon area. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a call early Saturday morning near the intersection of North Graham Street and Craighead Road, where they found Carter deceased from a gunshot wound.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Search work to gather evidence and determine the events leading to Carter’s tragic death.
