Fatal Gibson County shooting death of Patrick Waite – Obituary
Patrick Waite, 77, was identified as the perpetrator and victim in a deadly shooting that occurred on May 29 at a residence on Scottsdale Drive near Haubstadt, Kentucky. According to authorities, Waite called 911 to report that four people had been shot inside the home and said he would wait outside with his hands raised for law enforcement.
Inside the house, police discovered three deceased individuals: 61-year-old Alma Waite, who suffered gunshot wounds to the head in the kitchen; her son, 39-year-old Fernando Tapia Ramirez Sr., found in the den; and Alma’s mother, 81-year-old Gloria Garcia Tapia, also located in the den on a medical bed. Patrick Waite told police that he and Alma, his wife of about two years, had recently been discussing divorce and had a dispute over the house’s ownership shortly before he shot her multiple times. A juvenile was reportedly present in the kitchen during the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
