Sarah Brittany McElrath dies in fatal Spartanburg County motorcycle crash

Fatal Spartanburg County motorcycle crash death of Sarah Brittany McElrath – Obituary

Sarah Brittany McElrath, age 37, tragically lost her life Monday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on Highway 14 near Oak Grove Road in Spartanburg County. The collision occurred shortly after 6:20 p.m. when a motorcycle traveling east collided with the driver’s side of a westbound 2007 Dodge truck.

The truck’s driver was not injured in the crash. McElrath, who was the passenger on the motorcycle, was wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:17 p.m. The motorcycle’s driver, 60-year-old Bobby Goode, also wearing a helmet, was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center but died later that evening at 10 p.m.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
