Fatal Saskatoon motorcycle crash death of Speirious Prokulevich – Obituary

Speirious Prokulevich, a 22-year-old woman from Saskatoon, lost her life in a tragic motorcycle accident on University Bridge on May 29, the same day as her birthday.

Her brother, Dustin Prokulevich, confirmed her identity and shared that the family had celebrated with a barbecue the day before. “It was her 22nd birthday,” he said. “We were grateful to spend that time with her.”

According to Dustin, Speirious had recently upgraded her motorcycle and enjoyed riding. “She died doing what she truly loved,” he said.

The collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. during the height of Saskatoon’s morning traffic. A car and motorcycle collided, causing University Bridge and nearby roads to close for much of the day. The impact caused Prokulevich’s motorcycle to slide nearly 100 metres before stopping near 25th Street. Authorities are still working to determine the full details of the incident.

A memorial, including a pair of motorcycle gloves, has been placed at the scene to honor her memory.

Dustin shared that he and his four remaining siblings rushed to the hospital following the crash. “We were all there with her at the end. It was incredibly painful,” he said.

Speirious had been training to become a certified optician and was excited about her future. Above all, her brother said she will be remembered for the strong bonds she had with her family.

“She had a unique connection with each of us,” he said. “She wasn’t just my sister, she was one of my best friends. She adored her nieces and nephews and was an amazing aunt.”
