Gabriel M. Cooper, Nasir Youk, and Saniyah Newsuan, all 17 years old, lost their lives in a tragic crash Tuesday night in Limerick Township, Montgomery County, following a police pursuit related to an alleged theft.
Authorities say the teenagers were fleeing the scene of a reported theft at a Target store on Ridge Pike in Royersford when police attempted to stop the vehicle they were in around 9:05 p.m. The driver did not comply, leading to a high-speed chase.
Moments later, the vehicle lost control and crashed along the 300 block of Ridge Pike, near several homes and businesses. Witnesses described hearing a loud impact and seeing the aftermath, including a heavily damaged car, shattered debris, and police vehicles crowding the area.
Officials confirmed that Gabriel Cooper, Nasir Youk, and Saniyah Newsuan were killed in the crash. All three were either current or former students at Owen J. Roberts High School. A fourth teen, a 15-year-old boy and also an OJR student, survived but sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized.

The school district has made grief counseling available to students and families affected by the tragedy, urging parents to watch for emotional distress in their children during this difficult time.
No police officers were injured during the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
