Fatal Hooksett SUV crash death of Irene Roby – Obituary

Irene Roby, an 82-year-old resident of Candia, New Hampshire, died following a head-on collision in Hooksett early Tuesday morning, June 3.

According to police, Roby was driving a Nissan Rogue southbound on Hooksett Road around 5:40 a.m. when she reportedly became distracted while adjusting the vehicle’s heat controls. Her SUV crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a northbound Hyundai Kona near the Allenstown town line.

Emergency crews rushed Roby to the hospital, but she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Hyundai, 52-year-old Tammy Ortiz of Manchester, was also pronounced dead. A passenger in Ortiz’s vehicle was seriously injured and remained hospitalized.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances that led to the crash.
