Fatal Cherokee County motorcycle and truck crash death of Ralph Coggins Jr. – Obituary

Ralph Coggins Jr., 77, of Cowpens, South Carolina, lost his life following a collision between his motorcycle and a pickup truck on West Cherokee Street in Cherokee County.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred on Wednesday around 1:35 p.m. at the intersection with Moss Crossing. A 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck was stopped heading east on Moss Crossing while Coggins was riding his 2016 Indian motorcycle traveling south. The two vehicles collided at the intersection.

The driver of the pickup truck was unharmed. Coggins was transported to Cherokee Medical Center but later died from his injuries.
