Fatal West Boise car crash death of Vicki Rovig – Obituary

Vicki Rovig, 68, of Boise, died following a two-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in West Boise. The Ada County Coroner’s Office confirmed her identity and ruled her death an accident in a statement released Friday.

The crash occurred around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of Chinden Boulevard and Five Mile Road. Initial findings from the Boise Police Department indicate that an eastbound truck on Chinden collided with a westbound sedan that was attempting a left turn onto Five Mile.

Rovig, a passenger in the sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene. The sedan’s male driver sustained injuries but was expected to recover. The individuals in the truck were not hurt in the incident.

The crash led to the closure of Chinden Boulevard in both directions for more than four hours, with traffic access resuming around 8:15 p.m. The Boise Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
