Fatal Boynton Beach shooting death of Charles Morris Jr. – Obituary

Charles Morris Jr., a 16-year-old boy, passed away after being shot in the head in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was found inside a vacant home on NE 6th Street with a gunshot wound and died two days later in hospital.

 

The Boynton Beach Police Department reported that Morris Jr. was discovered unresponsive following a shooting in the Preserve community. His father had alerted police around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday after hearing that his son was shot near Northeast 10th Avenue. According to the father, a friend of Morris Jr. informed the boy’s mother that he had been robbed shortly before gunshots were heard.

 

Earlier that day, Morris Jr.’s mother said he had planned to go fishing with a friend. Police responded quickly to a 911 call reporting the shooting and found Morris Jr. at the southeast corner of the neighborhood. Emergency responders began life-saving efforts on site before transporting him to Delray Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead on Friday morning.

 

The police continue to investigate the circumstances around the shooting. No suspects or motives have been publicly identified yet. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact them to assist with the case.
